Wedding……flamy green peas spread

Looking around on the internet for vintage wedding dresses, and also cheap ones. But OMG it’s so hard to find a right one. I don’t want a new one, there are so expensive and just for 1 time wearing it, I rather go on holiday from that money ;). So no luck looking at traditional weddingdresses, but lucky to found a real nice summer dress with petticoat, so it is still a little weddingdress!
Now only the flowers in my hair and some shoes and I am ready for the party.
But oh no I still have to make the perfect green peas spread for the picnic, ok I did and I put it on this post. It is really flamy!

Recipe for flamy green peas spread

Ingredients:
210 grams of green peas
a yellow hot pepper/or red one
1/3 cup of fresh coriander leaves
1 1/2 tablespoon of olive oil cold pressed
1 tablespoon of lemon juice
1 clove of garlic
1/4 red onion or a shallot
pepper and salt to taste
(a piece of ginger if you like cube 1 by 1 centimeters)
capers on top/optional

Kitchentools
a magi mix (food processor)

How to make………..
I would say get rid of the seeds from the pepper and the green top, thaw the green peas if they come out of the freezer. Wash the coriander leaves and prepare the food procesoor to make a spread.
Now put all the ingredients in the processor and mix till it’s smooth like a spread.
I would say enjoy this spread!

Jael she is sweet and funny and a good cooking-princess in the kitchen, also I loved to work with her for my last high tea, so next time the wedding-picknick ……?
I am not a big fan of eggplant I really don’t know how to make it more tasty. But this spread yes it’s really the first thing I like with a basic of egg plant.
So It’s not so difficult to make, but it take more time to make because of the egg plant who must first heat up in the oven to make them soft and more eatable

The recipe for a jar full of بابا غنوج bābā ghanūj, baba ganush, baba ghannouj or baba ghannoug
380 grams of aubergine
1 tsp of paprika powder
1 teaspoon of cumin seeds
1 teaspoon of celtic seasalt (other salt will do also)
3 tablespoons of lemon juice
1 tablespoon of tahini (sesame paste)
one red hot chilli pepper (5 gram) without seeds
1/8 cup of olive oil
1/2 cup of fresh chopped coriander
3 cloves of pressed fresh garlic

Kitchentools
an oven
a food processor
a fork
a jar

Lets begin
first the aubergine must be in the oven at +/-200 degrees Celsius for 45-60 minutes, get a baking plate, with a fork you make holes in the egg plants and put the timer on.
You can begin now to prepare the other ingredients, chop the coriander, get the amounts of the powder/salt/seeds you need and put them already in the foodprocessor (waiting for the aubergines to join). Cut the chilli pepper in little pieces,press the lemon juice/ garlic and get also the olive oil. And again put them in the foodprocessor, do not mix yet!

Probably the aubergine is still in the oven, I would say get a power nap and wait for the ring.
When the timer goes off, get out the egg plants, the skin is old and creased, the inside is soft and a little brown!
Cool them a little down and get the skin of, this must be very easy to do….
Put the soft inside of the egg plant into the foodprocessor and yes now you can mix all the ingredients together!
Nice, the mixture you put in the jar and of course eat some on bread.

I like the readings in the nearby farm ‘Ons genoegen’, last Wednesday a guy gave a reading about perma-culture, and of course I knew a little about. But he gave me more ideas, and especially the motivation to start the school-year of perma-culture! Now time to convince my boyfriend I have to do this school!
So what is the best method…FOOD. So Allard my dear here is a good lunch with a nice spread on bread. And for you the recipe 😉

The recipe for the pink-purple spread
180 grams of white beans (dried white beans? 12 hours soaking in water and cook for 1,5 hour till they are ready for use)
1 beet
some lavender flowers (dried)
juice of 1/2 lemon
1 tablespoon of dried cumin seeds
1 tablespoon of tahin (sesame paste)
2 cloves of garlic
1 1/2 tablespoon of flaxseed-oil (other oil will do also)
1/4 teaspoon of chili-powder
2 gram of fresh ginger root
3 tablespoons of water
some salt/pepper kitchentools
a foodprocessor
some love
(for cooking the white dried beans a cooking pan)
a nice plate to impress

how to make…
Easy again, just mix all the ingredients together except for the lavender and pepper/salt, just put this at last in the mixture so you can still see the lavender pieces. And the pepper and salt is just what you like for taste…..

I would say enjoy, great to put on home made bread or a toast, and also perfect to use as a method to satisfy your friend

easy, healthy and delicious………….great lunch

shopping is always nice and finding new shoes even better! Today it was an easy going day, just waking up making breakfast and going to the shopping mall in the North of Amsterdam, walking in the sunshine without sorrows.
Bought some leopard pumps, time to be a lady again……and of course no leather in the shoes! People always look strange, when you ask :’do you have shoes without leather?’
Anyway it,s my choice of wearing no dead animal fur/skin, and I have to say, there are  beautiful fake stuff so…. it’s even not necessary to wear real animals and pay a lot for a second-hand skin.
Ok enough writing, lets go and talk about the lunch, because walking and shopping makes you hungry!
I like to make an healthy lunch, especially with home-made bread and with vegetables picked up straight from our own garden

So how can you make a nice healthy, delicious lunch without cheese and meat.
I just say think colourful and your bread will look and taste awesome.
Anyway after the hummus on bread, I just right down an easy solution for a nice lunch and maybe not special for a lot of people but I wanted to put this on my blog just again forgetting some ideas!.

Ingredients
Some tempeh
2 tomatoes cut in thin slices
some thin slices of cucumber
sprouts what you have made and is on the windowsill ( I had reddish and alfalfa)
some mustard to use as butter on your bread
some salt and pepper
Caraway seeds as a garnish
Fresh lettuce different colours straight from the garden!
some coconut oil for baking/frying the tempeh
A nice and fresh baked bread

So lets start…
get the tempeh and cut the tempeh in triangles so you can put it on your bread easy, anyway you can make also squares, the same size as your slice of bread! Bake the tempeh in the frying pan till they are golden brown set aside, and cut the slices from the tomato and cucumber.
Take some bread and put some mustard on the top of the bread, upon the mustard you can put some lettuce. On top of the lettuce some tomato, cucumber and tempeh, the finishing touch is to put the sprouts on top and some pepper, salt and caraway seeds! Voila an easy lunch and if you have avocado you can put this also on your bread or leave away the tomato. Just fun to make this bread, you can make it the way you want and what you like……..just delicious!

chickpeas suddenly turns into hummus….

no big news today, listen to some music all the day. Just thinking what to do when I have my website and of course make some nice spread for on bread. I like to make spreads, otherwise as a vegan you don’t have much to put on your bread! Sometimes I make a toast with vegan cheese and some pineapple on it (but this is really expensive and I think not the best product for your health because it’s a refined product)
If you want to live healthy you must take the most whole food you can get, not flour but wheat flakes for example (that contains the most vitamins) Every process with the food, the product will loose some vitamins. Please keep this in your mind and you can live a much healthier live!

Back to the spread I made, this is a typical Arabic food, it’s called hummus and made out of chickpeas! I make it more thicker so it won’t fall of the bread. You can make also some sauce of it but it most be more liquid then!

How to use dried chickpeas?
I use dried chickpeas, they must be in water for at least 12 hours. So before I go to sleep or at dinner time I put them in a bowl and soak them in the water. Let’s say 3 times more water then chickpeas
After they must cook for at least 1 1/2 hour in clean fresh water, I put some wakame (seaweed) in it, they told me this combination let you digest the beans easier.
When it’s finished boiling for 1 1/2 hour and they are soft you can use them for hummus
(this is the long preparing time)

The ingredients of the hummus (a lot of hummus)

500 gram chickpeas canned or dried and prepared like above,( for more creaminess in the hummus get rid of the glassy peel from the chickpeas, by taking 1 chickpea in 2 fingers and slide the peel off)
1/2  lemon and his juice
circa 1/3 cup oatmilk or water (or try some soy yoghurt instead)
circa 4 tablespoon of oil I used flaxseed oil ( you can use olive oil also)
1 1/2 tablespoon tahini (sesame-paste)
3 cloves of garlic
circa 1/2 cup fresh parsley or maybe 1/4 cup dried parsley
circa 1/2 cup of fresh coriander
circa 3 teaspoon ground cumin
a dash of Himalayan salt

(3 teaspoon of ground cayenne pepper if you like it spicy)
maybe some pepper if you like

Which tool to use

Just a food processor
a bowl to put the hummus in to set aside in the fridge
and maybe the cooking pan if you use the dried chickpeas

So how to begin

Put the chickpeas in the food processor together with the spices and garlic. Blend it and slowly pour the milk in the mixture, the lemon juice, the oil and the tahini.
And I would say when its all smooth then it’s ready to be used as a spread! And to make it more smoothier just pour in some more oil or milk, taste what you like. This recipe I don’t know exactly because I taste and make this by feeling

healthy week?…….spread for on bread

Pfffff a couple weeks long, too much alcohol, too many cupcakes and too many snacks. Definitely time for more healthy food and when it’s the best way to start? When you really slept terrible and when it’s morning. With my sleepy head I made some celestial seasoning’s goji-pomegranate tea and some nice spreads..My son is always happy with some porridge..lucky man 🙂

An easy way to make spreads

Ingredients

1 avocado
1 tomato
juice of an half lemon
1 little onion (red I like more)
2 tablespoons of flaxseed oil
2 tablespoons of dill
5 walnuts or maybe 10
roasted pine nuts
some pepper for garnish
some cucumber for garnish

Machinery

Just a food processor  (I love my magimix)

what to do?

I just say put everything together except the pepper, pine nut and cucumber and mix until smooth. Put the mixture on bread and make a nice painting of it 🙂

You can make a lot of variations on it, maybe some garlic, parsley instead of dill, some sun-dried tomatoes, some cayenne-pepper, use other nuts…I would say be creative

Mmm and after this take some real nice fresh orange juice with grapefruit in it

Oh no….blogging time

What an easy going day, today….yesterday it was a crazy day because of the people coming and going.
Today I did a little nap in the day, listened to some music, playing with the baby on the music-making rail with trains and get some balloons kicking in the air.
Thinking what to write on the blog, because I made so much for the b-day of my son, and of course I wanted to share it all. So yes today it was also a blogging day, wrote many posts and also used a lot of google translate ( sometimes it IS necessary 😉 ).
And putting a lot of time in blogging, it means that there is not so much time for dinner, and I didn’t had much choice in what to use, the leeks were getting old.

Hmmmm soup is easy, it’s fun to make. Soup for me is like something what never can be a nasty taste and which you can experiment a lot ( and can use every vegetable you wish)

So today a nice leek soup with some oven-bread and home-made herb-butter from yesterday

For the soup (4-6 persons)

900 gram of leek cut in slices
2 litres of vegetable bouillon
4 tablespoons apple vinegar
100 ml of soy cuisine
a tablespoon of vegan cream cheese or herb butter
some oil
some 4-season pepper

Kitchentools

a cooking pan
a wooden spoon
a food processor
some nice bowls for the soup
an oven
a plate to put the bowl on top of it

Time to begin!

Put some oil in the cooking pan and slowly heat the oil, when the oil is at good temperature you put in the leek. Just stir the leek for 3 minutes (and also pour the apple-vinegar in it) or something like, till the leek is darker of colour.
Then put the bouillon in the pan and bring it to a boil let stand for 10 minutes and taste. When you like it pour the soy cuisine in the soup and stir well, and now it’s ready to mix in the food processor. Wow the soup smells good and looks good (if you want a thicker soup you can put some potatoes in it while you bring the soup to a boil)
The last step is to pour the soup in a good-looking bowl, take the bread from the oven and lay them next to the bowl with some home-made herb-butter, get some eating flowers from the garden as a garnish. And some fresh parsley or chive in the soup and half a tablespoon of vegan cream cheese or herb-butter

Oh yes and of course you want the recipe of the home-made herb-butter, here are the ingredients just put them all together in the mixing machine. Just taste if you like the taste and be a little creative (maybe some cayenne pepper)

The ingredients of the herb-butter

2 cloves of garlic
150 gram vegan butter
1/2 cup fresh parsley  or some dried
4 teaspoons garlic/pepper spice
1 teaspoon oregano
2 teaspoons of basil
2 teaspoons of dill
some juice of a lemon

breakfast on a lazy day…

Did I already tell you I made a real nice breakfast this morning , someone gave me rocket. I love rocket and straight from the garden are the best one, very sharp and tasty. You can just put rocket in some salad or on a bread like garnish of what do you think about some rocket pesto!!! I made it today, very yammie. And all together with some home made bread….(ok I was to lazy I just put some bread in the oven from the supermarket)..:). So lets start

 

The ingredients

100 gram of rocket (please as fresh as possible)
1 hand of walnuts (or maybe pine nuts or cashews)
3 tablespoons of cold pressed flaxseed oil (omega’s 3!!)
3 tablespoons of noble yeast flakes
2 cloves of garlic
8 sun-dried tomatoes in oil
maybe some lemon juice

you only need the food processor

So this is really easy going, just put all the ingredients together in the food processor and finished when it’s all like butter. Ready to put on bread, and a fresh home-grown mint-tea!!
